The Biggest Chokers in the History of Sports

The New York Mets have been the best team on paper since 2005, but since then nothing but a big mess. The New York Mets are the biggest chokers of all time. In 2007 the Mets had an 8 game lead in the division going into September all to give it the Phillies in one of the 2nd greatest comeback stories of all times behind the Ewoks defeating the evil empire. Again last year the Mets had a lead of four games going into Sepetember again to choke as the World Champion Phillies nipped at their heels and caught them. In conclusion the Mets suck and will never win anything. New York in general sucks.Wink
go phils. New York fans I look forward to your rebuttle but for now New York can suck it.

Is the draft really that important?

I think it is safe to safe that in America football takes top priority over any other sport, but it is riduculous that the draft is on ESPN for the second day. The draft is great but, come on. With the 186th pick, the Colts pick, Joe the janitor. I know that stars can emerge from the later rounds, aka Tom Brady, but the fact that the draft is a two day deal is crazy. Cut it to four or five rounds and have it run all day on Saturday. Also the fact that we have to listen Mel Kiper Jr. tell us about every single pick is dumb. Here's the truth, nobody knows how kids are going to transfer into the NFL. You might as well ask your dog. He'll probably get closer than so call "draft gurus". Another thing,   only the first round should be aired. Instead of the draft on ESPN, how about we put on a playoff game or a baseball game. Have a streaming banner on the bottom of the screen to announce picks and that's all'. By the end of the Phillies game when they were crushing the MarlinsSmile, I turned on the draft to see if it was over yet, and I couldn't believe what they were showing. They were filming fans sleeping in their seats. Maybe ESPN should take a hint from that. I would rather watch women's bowling or professional dominos than the second day of the draft. If anybody with connections to ESPN, stumbles across this, please do something, anything. I would settle for  semi-proffesional curling. Seriously.

Three's a Company

What a time to be a Philadelphia sports fan. The Sixers leading the Magic in the playoffs, the Flyers still alive in the playoffs, and the defending champion Phillies starting to find their groove. Every time you turn on the television there is a game on. These three teams are dwarfing the NFL draft which is a hard thing to do in town that bleeds green for the Eagles. Just last night the Phillies scored seven in the ninth to come back and beat the Marlins and thirty minutes later Thadius Young is hitting a shot over Dwight Howard to put the Sixers ahead for good. Having so many teams in contention for a chapionship run in late April is a rare thing. How many cities can brag about having a NBA and NHL team still in the playoffs. Besides us, just two, Chicago and Detroit. Win or lose, we have to enjoy this amazing run and when its over, we have to thank our teams for a great run. Plus theres another 147 games for the Phillies.
